Supporting Animal Rescues

The pets we look after are incredibly fortunate to have such devoted, caring humans and many of our furry clients (and I do mean the four legged ones), live quite charmed life, with their humans who would go to the end of the world for them.

It is with that in mind, The London Cat Sitting Company and Top Dawgs Pet Sitting, is launching a drive at the most giving time of the year, to help other pets, not as fortunate as the ones we look after.

We support adopting pets, over buying and back yard breeding, and with so many abandoned pets in rescue waiting for their for ever homes, there is every reason to adopt a pet from a rescue. Especially when British shelters are experiencing a surge in intakes.

Other than providing shelter to abandoned and abused pets, animal rescue organizations provide neutering and spaying programs to local communities and to communities abroad. The importance of spaying and neutering can never be over emphasized.

Starting in December 2016, £1 of every completed booking will be donated to our two chosen charities – The Celia Hammond Animal Trust and Barking Mad Dog Rescue. Many are familiar with who Celia Hammond is and the remarkable work her organization does, but some may not be familiar with Barking Mad Dog Rescue, a smaller organization.

Based in the UK, they provide shelter, spaying neutering, veterinary treatment to stray dogs on the streets in Romania and successful adoptions and fostering in the UK. Currently Barking Mad Dogs Rescue is entirely ran and managed by volunteers, which appealed to Remi, London Cat Sitting Company and Top Dawgs owner. It just means less money is spent on admin and staff payments (at least for the time being).

You can help by donating your time by volunteering or donating money, pet food, old towels, pet toys, pet beds, litter and so much more.

Other rescues are available, but to find out more about the two we support, please visit their web sites and Facebook pages:
