Once you decide to proceed, complete the booking/registration form. Once completed and submitted, you will be sent a confirmation followed by a phone call or message from your assigned cat sitter, who will arrange a convenient time to meet you and your kitty in your home. Once registered, you will be able to request further service in the future by just logging in or using our app to book it yourself.
Registration Visit
An initial registration visit gives the cat sitter, you and your cat, an opportunity to get acquainted. When you decide to register your cat with us, a time will be arranged to come to your home. There is a £11 charge for this visit, but only if you are booking less than 7 visits or total billing of less than £100.
Keys
We collect keys at the registration visit, so please ensure you have a spare set of keys that have been tested. The set of keys you give us, must not be in use by you or other household members. We can’t stress enough the importance of giving us a spare set and not one in use.
Key return is per agreement between individual client and sitter. Please keep in mind there is a £7.50 charge if your sitter returns the key on a separate day. Many of our regular clients are happy for us to hold on to keys which are locked away safely.
Peace of mind
We realise you will be entrusting a stranger into your home and understand, you may have some anxiety or be a little apprehensive about it. We hope this will give us the chance to alleviate all that and get to know your carer more. Your cat sitter will get the chance to interact with your cat while you are present. This will also be a time when you can get any questions about cat sitting services answered and a chance for the cat sitter to gain familiarity with your cat and home routine.
Preparing for your pet sitter
-
Preparation can make a big difference in how smoothly things go for your pet when the pet sitter comes to visit. Here are some tips:
-
Make sure the cat sitter has a phone number where you can be reached (This should appear on the pet sitting service agreement form)
-
If you have new keys made, please try them out to make sure they work.
-
Provide extra food, litter and other supplies just in case you’re not able to return when planned.
-
Adjust the thermostat to keep the house comfortable for the pet during your absence.
-
Leave a list of phone numbers in case the pet sitter needs to contact service or maintenance companies while you are away; i.e., plumber, electrician, cleaning service etc. There is a section on the pet sitting agreement form for all this.
-
Tell the cat sitter of any household areas that are off-limits to your pets or to the pet sitter. Secure access to those areas before leaving home.
